A festive line of lights, illuminating the darkness and bringing joy.

On 8th November 2023, I visited the Dadar market to get some flowers for by girlfriend!!

Nah I’m just joking, I’d happen to visit Dadar for some work and then I thought of exploring the Dadar flower market. Although I’ve heard that the Dadar flower market is open and full in early mornings, but I thought of giving it a chance to go and try my luck as I was there around 1:15pm.

So, I just walking in a random direction thinking that I might just find it, as there were many fruit and vegetable vendors in the vicinity. After walking a little bit further, I came across vendors selling Diwali decorations and stuff. It actually caught my eye because it made me that Diwali isn’t the same for everyone. Being a Media student and specialization in Journalism, and also a photographer there was a curiosity in me that awakened and I went approached a vendor selling colors to make rangoli (Indian traditional way to decorate floors with colors, rice, sand). I asked him he I could click his picture with rangoli colors that he’s selling to which he agreed. I clicked a picture to which later his friends approached me telling to click their pictures too.

That smile told it all, we all were happy, chit-chatting to which I just I started conversing with them. That’s when I came to know that they have migrated from Northern part of India. They wanted the pictures so I told to follow me on Instagram @lensphotoz, later we chit-chatted a bit. I then resumed my journey to find the flower market. {I’ve posted their pictures on my photography Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/p/CzbAXHDPoPo/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

As I was walking , I seen an old aunty selling Diwali essentials to which I approached her and asked her if she was okay if I clicked a picture of her to which she replied yes of course. She happily smiled and posed while the commuters photobombed the picture. Her friend at the side was like make her famous in a joking way.

Not everyone allows you to click them as their camera shy or any other reason, so there were moments and people I couldn’t capture. But I could have a talk with them, where all were polite and happily talking and telling me about their Diwali plans.

Although I didn’t find the flower market as I was getting late but I did learn that,
